Information Management Administrator - Engineering - West London
A highly reputable and extremely unique engineering firm has a requirement for a Information Management Administrator to join their Data team and be based out of a location near Uxbridge. The role will initially focus on supporting and administer the firms SharePoint information management platform with particular focus on supporting search, structure and compliance. However, in the longer term, it is anticipated that the post-holder will learn and undertake more complex responsibilities around data management utilising tools such as VBA and PowerShell to automate tasks. This is a role that would suit someone relatively close to the beginning of their career journey who has an understanding or some exposure to SharePoint, and is seeking an opportunity to develop skillset that combines information management and technology skills
In this Information Management Administrator role, the primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The provision of a support and training service to users for the SharePoint platform
- Educate and advise SharePoint users on information management process, procedure and policies
- SharePoint administration including search, tagging and metadata
- Adding and removing of users, and uploading data
- Updating and maintenance of the Intranet
- Supporting in the compliance and management of systems integrity
- Stakeholder interaction and management at all levels of the firm
- In the longer term, developing skills in VBA, PowerShell and automation
To be a suitable candidate for this Information Management Administrator role, you will require:
- A demonstrable passion for information or data management
- An ability and desire to quickly learn new skills and deploy these in a work-based setting
- Experience using information management platforms such as SharePoint would be extremely desirable, but equally a theoretical understanding of knowledge or information management would also be considered
- Highly developed IT skills, particularly around MS Office or database platforms
- Strong interpersonal, communication and engagement skills
- A related degree in IT, Information Management or Library Science would be a distinct advantage
