Just in! A global managed service provider is seeking an Information Officer to provide professional support to their client, a leading global law firm. You will also work closely with the Senior information officer in the delivery of the following services: Digital resource management, hard copy acquisition and management, training materials for information resources and processes, contributing to the promotion and development of the service, day-to-day administration and management of information resources, business and legal enquiries, contribute to the continuous review and improvement of processes and support the sharing of knowledge and cross-skilling within the team.
Main responsibilities include:
Undertake collections management duties, including overseeing and working with colleagues overseas, to facilitate:
- Procurement of journals, books and looseleafs - print and electronic
- Liaising with clients regarding orders
- Processing of new books (cataloguing and updating LMS)
- Journal administration
- Updating client systems
- Reviewing new publications list
- Administrative support around renewal of materials
- Provide data to support electronic resource renewal/adoption
- Password administration
- Arranging for article copy requests to be provided
- Schedule for physical library management
- Enquiries including passwords, articles, company information and Land Registry searches
- Supporting end to end joiners and leavers process
- Working with colleagues overseas to train them to support on these processes
- Updating client intranet pages and regular posts
- Editing, reviewing and updating other client systems
- Updating central training records
- Booking training sessions with clients and suppliers
- Supporting resource related enquiries and information requests
- Tracking trends / management information in resource usage
- Assisting with current awareness administration and appropriate updating of content aggregator (Manzama)
To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:
- Degree or Equivalent Professional Experience in Information Management or Related Subject Area
- Good IT skills – especially relating to Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience of Library Management Systems
- Familiarity with key electronic and print resources used in legal sector
- Good level of numeracy
- Organised and methodical
- Ability to track tasks, prioritise and manage time effectively
- Communication and listening skills
- Interpersonal skills – develops and maintains effective professional relationships internally and externally
