Junior Business Researcher - Law
A multinational law firm with multiple UK offices has an opportunity for a bright and intellectually curious individual to join their Research function and be based out of an office location in Leeds. The primary objective of the role is to support the firms business development, marketing activities and strategy through the provision of an enquiry based research service and current awareness output. This is an entry level role in the firm and would suit someone that is looking to start a career as an information professional in a prestigious law firm
The main objectives and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Responding to requests for a mix of business and legal research, predominantly business research
- Utilising a wide variety of online databases and other research resources
- Assisting in the production and publishing of sector aligned current awareness updates
- The provision of training on research resources and driving awareness within the firm to promote engagement
- A longer term objective will be to become a sector specific expert within the team
To be suitable for the role, candidates will require the following experience and skills:
- Either some previous experience in a similar role or perhaps a graduate with an intellectually curious mindset and a real interest in research
- Some exposure to the legal sector would be highly desired, but is not essential
- The ability to work with and develop relationships with challenging stakeholders
- An ability to prioritise tasks and from time to time, manage conflicting priorities or small projects
- Attentive to minor details and strong organisational skills
- Strong customer facing, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Motivated by working in a fast-paced environment with a steep learning curve
- A degree, particularly in Libraries or Information Science would be really useful, but is by no means a pre-requisite
