Knowledge & Information Officer - Law - Bristol or Remote
An international law firm that with an award-winning KM team based out of Bristol has an opportunity for a Knowledge and Information professional to join their team. This is a role that can be based out of Bristol, or be primarily remote with the expectation of being on site a couple of times a month either in Bristol or London. The role offers a mix of knowledge, information and research based responsibilities and would be extremely well suited to a qualified librarian looking to make a step up, or a step across into a role with a bit more flexibility in terms of working practices.
The primary responsibilities and objectives of this Knowledge & Information Officer role include, but are not limited to:
- Providing a mix of enquiry led legal and business research as part of a centralised and rota driven team
- The provision of a current awareness service for the firm
- Driving engagement across the firm with both resources and the Knowledge and Information function
- Assist in the management of subscriptions, resources and cataloguing of hard-copy collections
- Providing training as part of inductions for new starters within the firm
- Contribute to the firms KM capability through the development of resources pages and search on the firms intranet platform
Suitable candidates for this Knowledge & Information Officer role will require the following experience and skills:
- Previous experience in similar information role such as an Information Officer, Information Assistant or from within an information graduate scheme
- An Information or Library Science qualification is essential
- Experience undertaking legal research, and ideally some exposure to business research
- Experience assisting in, or providing a current awareness service
- Strong stakeholder and customer facing skills
- A strong team working ethic and the ability to be effective in a collaborative working environment
- Articulate, organised and extremely attentive to minor details
