New graduate opportunity! A global US law firm requires a Knowledge Services Assistant to assist the US and International Knowledge Services teams with providing dedicated support for the Knowledge Management Attorneys (KMs) and other attorneys with KM responsibilities across the firm. This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the management of knowledge materials and data, but the role holder also interacts with the IT KM Support team on the development of new KM technical resources.
This role will be entry level, with someone in a similar role or at graduate level either in law or information management would be an advantage. Experience of working in an administrative or library function in a law firm or professional services firm is desirable.
Main responsibilities include:
- Assist with the development and maintenance of new and existing practice group sites in SharePoint, adding links to internal documents, external research tools and relevant websites, in accordance with established content management best practices.
- Maintain and update directories of referral contacts using internal and external research resources.
- Manage the content and organization of KM folders in the Firm’s document management system.
- Work closely with the KMs to help prepare and deliver regular practice specific newsletters using the Vable publishing tool.
- Assist with producing regular KM product usage reports.
- Assist with redacting and proofreading certain knowledge materials to comply with client confidentiality.
- Assist with discreet KM research projects using third party research tools such as Capital IQ and PitchBook.
- Take responsibility for updating internal deal data trackers using internal and external resources.
- Provide general admin support to KMs as and when required.
To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree, law or an information related qualification.
- Experience of working in an administrative or KM function in a law firm or professional services firm is desirable.
- Technical experience should include MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience of SharePoint would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Knowledge of some external research tools such as Capital IQ, Covenant Review and PitchBook would be advantageous.
- Highly organized, possess very good communication (oral and written) skills.
- Have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- An ability to handle large volumes of data entry accurately and to meet tight deadlines is expected.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships among attorneys and staff.
- Be proactive and take the initiative in finding solutions to problems.
- Candidate must be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Hybrid working - in the London office are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, which gives flexibility for working from home on Monday and Friday.
