Research and Library Generalist - Law - Hong Kong
One of the worlds biggest and most successful law firms has a requirement for an information professional to join their Hong Kong based Library and Research function. This is a broad role that covers legal research, the creation of current awareness bulletins and library management tasks such as collections management and working with suppliers. It would be well-suited to someone at the start of their career as an information professional and looking to gain experience in a complex and fast paced legal setting
In this role, the primary objectives and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Undertaking basic research services, delivering results and working with attorneys to ensure quality control.
- Assisting with document retrieval services using preferred vendors
- Supporting in the creation and delivery of customized alerts and monitoring services
- Assisting with research & library operations including print collection management, processing vendor invoices and account management
- Administration of research database passwords
- Working with the e-Library portal ensuring consistent standards firmwide
Suitable candidates will require the following skills and experience:
- Some previous experience or knowledge of print and electronic legal and non-legal research resources
- Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrable organisational skills, the ability to manage conflicting priorities and attentive to minor details
- An ability to present data and information in an engaging format
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- A related degree would be extremely beneficial but is not a pre-requisite
