Senior Information Services Officer - Law
An international law firm with a UK head office in Central London has a requirement for a Senior Information Services Officer. This role would suit an information professional that enjoys a broad range of challenges in a fast paced information and research services function within a legal or professional services setting.
The core responsibilities and objectives include, but are not limited to:
- Servicing legal and business research requests as part of centralised team
- Managing collections, procurement of books and cataloguing of resources
- Managing and updating a SharePoint intranet
- Conducting inductions for new starters and providing ongoing training to stakeholders
- Driving awareness and engagement throughout the business with research and information services function
- Assisting on upcoming projects within the information services team
Suitable candidates for this Senior Information Services Officer role will need the following skills and experience:
- Experience in a similar Information Officer, Information Services or Knowledge Management role, preferably gained within the legal sector
- Demonstrable business and legal research skills using tools such as WestLaw or Lexis
- Well developed skills in training and upskilling fee-earners
- Experience in cataloguing and collections management
- A good understanding of library management systems, and ideally using SharePoint as an Intranet platform
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ideally, some relevant industry qualifications or a related degree
