Strategic Research Analyst - Law - London

One of the worlds leading law firms has a requirement for a Research Analyst to join their team in the UK and play a pivotal role in the production of insight and analysis that feeds into more strategic objectives of the firm. In the UK, this is a standalone role but will work with a team geographically dispersed across multiple jurisdictions including the US. It is a position that will be extremely well suited to an experienced analyst who enjoys the challenge of working across multiple industries and topics and can distil data and information from multiple sources into actionable insight.

In this Strategic Research Analyst role, the principal objectives include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking complex research and analysis projects, primarily under the guidance of the Global Head of Strategic Research
  • Conducting research across a wide spectrum of topics including industries, markets, competitor intelligence and practice areas
  • Utilizing sophisticated tools and resources, including analytics to collect and distil/visualise information to actionable insight
  • Working in collaboration with a team of peers that are geographically dispersed across the globe
  • Forging a close working relationship with the UK and European based Library and Information teams 
  • Evaluating new research and analytics tools and acting as a subject matter expert
  • Working on multiple concurrent projects and balancing the needs of stakeholders across the firm

To be a suitable candidate for this Strategic Research Analyst role, the following is required:

  • Prior experience in a similar role and with a focus on the delivery of insight
  • Ideally, experience gained in a legal or wider professional services setting 
  • The ability to undertake research that covers multiple industries, topics, markets and competitors
  • Familiar with an extremely broad set of research resources and tools and some previous experience with analytics or visualisation tools
  • Capable of working on multiple concurrent projects and the ability to manage and prioritise the needs of key stakeholders
  • An ability to produce a range of outputs including slide decks, reports and thought pieces
  • An intellectually curious mindset. The role is primarily reactive, but an ability to identify opportunities to support strategic objectives will also be utilised
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement, interpersonal and communication skills
  • A relevant qualification is preferred, ideally in Libraries, Information Science or Law
